
Teri Lynn Hatcher was born December 8, 1964 in Palo Alto, California. Esther Hatcher Her mother was a Lockheed Martin computer programmer. Owen Hatcher, her father, was an electrical engineer as well as a nuclear physicist. Teri was born in Sunnyvale and went on to study ballet at the San Juan School of Dance. She was a student at Fremont High School, where she was leader of the Featherettes dance team. She was named "Most likely to become an Solid Gold Dancer." Hatcher graduated from De Anza College, where she was a mathematician and engineer. She also took acting classes in San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater. Teri disclosed that her uncle Richard Hayes Stone had sexually attacked her since the age of five. She also helped Santa Clara County prosecutors in their investigation into Stone following the 14-year-old victim of Stone's took her own life. Stone received a sentence in prison after pleading guilty in four counts of molestation, and later died of colon cancer in prison
